This weekend was a crazy one! We swung by Smucker Farms on our way out of town hoping the boxes would be in. Fortunately, I arrived just as they were unloading the boxes! This week’s box included red cabbage, potatoes, zucchini, tomatoes, garlic, sweet onions, peppermint, corn, and green peppers.
The red cabbage (and a cabbage from last week) went to my mother who was thrilled to be getting them.
The garlic… we LOVE getting garlic because it means we don’t have to buy it. Also, this garlic, I think, is more tasty and flavorful.
One green pepper went into sweet potato and black bean burritos, although it wasn’t that delicious. I’m not sure what will happen with the other green peppers yet.
The corn and 2 potatoes went into a delicious corn chowder (thank you Mark Bittman!)
And the tomatoes and peppermint… yet to be decided. We have quiche planned for Friday so I assume I’ll throw a bunch of stuff in there.
